Review: Ryo Jayangyunmo Anti-Hair loss Treatment

LADIES, for the last 2 days, I’ve been walking around with what feels like mermaid hair, softly bouncing in the wind and reflecting in the sun like millions of tiny diamonds, and whenever I run my fingers through it, I can feel the softness and smell the faint clean scent.

I can’t remember when was the last time I wrote something like this about my hair, which is normally a frizzy, dry-as-the-desert mess, but there you go! The secret to this recent transformation lies in the hair mask I’ve been using at least once a week for the past month. Seriously, if you’re looking for a mask that is able transform broomstick hair into a beautiful unicorn mane, look no further than the Ryoe Jayangyunmo Anti-Hair loss Treatment!

RYEOjayangyunmohairpackdescriptionRecently, I had been noticing that I was losing quite a lot of hair. Whenever I’d brush my hair over the sink, there would be several strands laying in it afterwards. When I rinsed conditioner out of my hair using my fingers, a worrying amount of hair would end up tangled in my fingers, so much so that my boyfriend started complaining that the drain was always clogged because of me.

As neither coconut oil packs or anything else seemed to work, I started looking around for anti hair loss products and thus ended up buying a few products from Ryoe. Ryoe is a Korean premium haircare brand owned by renowned cosmetic giant Amore Pacific. Their haircare lines specialise on strengthening the roots and anti hair loss based on oriental medicine. Most of their products will feature a lot of exotic, herbal ingredients such as red ginseng, licorice, black bean, camellia oil and so on.

The Jayangyunmo line in particular focuses on improving and preventing hair loss, making hair thicker and more resilient. It uses licorice, biota seed and scutellaria baicalensis to strengthen roots as well as wilfordi root and coix seeds to calm and cool the scalp.

Packaging

The mask comes in a pretty reflecting orange/purple plastic bottle with 200g of product. At first I though it looked a bit small but it later turned out that the cream is so thick and rich that you don’t need to use much!

Texture & Scent

The mask has a somewhat unusual beige/grey colour that I haven’t encountered in any other hair products before. Although it’s not the most visually pleasing colour, it has a lovely thick and rich texture which is easy  to distribute on the hair and scalp. As for the smell, I am absolutely in love with the scent of this mask! Most Ryoe products have a herbal/medicinal smell, and the Jayangyunmo mask is no exception, however the scent is incredibly refreshing and invigorating. I can’t quite make out what the principal note is, but it’s something along licorice and ginseng. If you are sensitive towards strong scents or don’t like herbal scent, then this mask might not be for you, as it also lingers for a couple of hours after having washed it out.

Efficacy & Verdict

After having distributed the mask on my lengths and scalp, I usually leave it on for a minimum of 20 minutes; if possible even longer. Because of the calming and refreshing ingredients in it, it does tingle on the scalp a little, but it’s actually a soothing sensation. While washing the mask out I can already feel how silky and nourished my hair feels, and instead of the normal tangly mess I get after showering, my hair is smooth, straight and easy to comb. The best results, however, only become visible when the hair is dry. After letting it air-dry naturally, my hair was sooo smooth and frizz-free, felt super soft  and had an amazing, healthy sheen to it. Simply put, it just looked healthy.  The straw-like, puffed-up tresses were completely gone and replaced by smooth, fuller looking strands falling down my shoulders in soft waves. I-LOVE-IT!

As to the anti-hair loss effect, I didn’t really notice an immediate effect, but I can imagine that there would be an improvement over a longer period of time. Judging from the way it has replenished my hair so quickly and is continuously making it stronger, I do believe it can help with hair loss as well.

Of course the next question to ask is, would I repurchase it? The answer is a definite yes. This hair pack just proved to be one of the best products I have tried recently, and it really does improve hair condition from the very first use. I also love using it during pampering sessions because it feels so soothing and has a wonderful smell!

Score: 5/5

      1. Well, I was totally gonna resist, but I have just finalized my order. It includes this treatment, the Jayangyunmo shampoo (my scalp does get oily sometimes,) and the Etude House scarf whatever-whatever hair essence. Your post helped enable me… 😀

  1. haha I know what you mean…whenever I shop online I tell myself I’ll get only what I really need, and 5 minutes later it’s like ‘actually, might as well stock up on everything in one go!” xD I hope the products work for you! 😀
